Peter Brotherhood Secures Turbine Order
Peter Brotherhood has secured an order to supply steam turbines for a Floating Production Vessel. As part of the deal, which is worth in excess of £10 million and is expected to be delivered during 2020, the business has also secured an option to provide a similar set of turbines for a yet to be confirmed, potential future vessel.
The order follows a similar project that saw Peter Brotherhood supply components for the world’s first FLNG vessel conversion – the Hilli Episeyo – which successfully commenced production offshore Cameroon earlier this year.
The UK-based company is rapidly becoming the market leader for these specialist turbines, developing an international reputation for engineering highly-specialised systems for this particular oil and gas sector niche.
Austen Adams, divisional managing director of Avingtrans’ Process Solutions and Rotating Equipment division, said: “Securing this order is a great start to the year and builds on our reputation as a genuine world leader in this technically challenging, niche market. The turbines supplied by Peter Brotherhood are one of the first major components in the build sequence, so our team’s performance is critical to the success of each vessel’s conversion. The order recognises the expertise and reputation for reliable, high-quality engineering which our team has developed over the years and provides another example of how UK manufacturing continues to make its mark on the global stage.”
